Play Taxi Media is about...

Survey. Putting Canadians on the hot seatMetro - September 27th - 29th 2013

Play Taxi Media, a media company that has a network of touch screens in taxicabs across Canada, challenged young professionals on their knowledge of our home and native land.

Vancouverites and Calgarians excelled when asked the capital of their province with more than 90 per cent of riders answering Victoria and Edmonton, respectively. Torontonians were a bit more challenged, with 34 per cent incorrectly choosing Ottawa over Toronto.

Overall, 75 per cent of riders were "smarter than a 5th grader" in remembering that the Confederation was officially proclaimed in 1867; however, when asked how many oceans border our nation, 37 per cent seem to have forgotten about the Arctic Ocean.

Finally, across the country, there was no confusion with the identity of our first Prime Minister, with over 80 per cent selecting Sir. John A. MacDonald.

Play Taxi Media was pleased to see that some good old-fashioned Canadian history entertained over 5,000 riders - look for our newest Metropoll the next time you are in a taxi.
